WMB TV – Premier League 17/18 – Week 2 Tips

Saturday 19th August 2017

Swansea v Man Utd

Bournemouth v Watford

  • Tom – “Bournemouth score goals for fun at Dean Court, and Watford are fresh off the back of scoring 3 against Liverpool. I can only see this going one way, and that involves goals, goals, goals!” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Over
  • Olly – “Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last 7 matches against Watford, although 6 have ended as a draw. Think it will be the same again.” – Match Outcome – Draw
  • Will – “6 of the last 7 betweeen these two have been a draw No current Premier League side (exc. promoted teams) has kept fewer clean sheets in 2017 than Watford and Bournemouth Should be goals Both games last season were 2-2” – Correct score – Draw 2 – 2

Burnley v West Brom

  • Tom – “Burnley love a 1-0 at Turf Moor. WBA don’t score many goals either. Could see this being last on MOTD. I reckon this will be 0-0 or 1-1.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under
  • Olly – “This fixture usually produces goals. Both teams have scored in each of the last 6 at Turf Moor and the last 2 have finished 2-2. With an average of 3 goals per game across the last 6 meetings at Burnley” – Both Teams to Score – Yes
  • Will – “West Brom have failed to win any of their last nine Premier League away matches Vokes has scored seven goals in his last six Premier League apps Minimal goals in this. Probably 1-0 Burnley with Vokes on the scoresheet” – Correct score – Burnley 1 – 0

Leicester v Brighton

  • Tom – “A little bit risky for me, this. Leicester looked very good going forward against Arsenal, but leaky at the back. I fancy Brighton to score as they caused City a few issues.” – Leicester City To Win And Both Teams To Score
  • Olly – “He looked dangerous last week, bagging a brace. Think he will pop up again against a poorer defensive side…” – To score at any time – Jamie Vardy
  • Will – “Vardy looks like he’s up for it this season. Scored 2 already. Plus Leicester are good at home. Won five of their seven at home under Craig Shakespeare last season” – To score at any time – Jamie Vardy

Liverpool v Palace

Southampton v West Ham

  • Tom – “Saints had 20+ shots in their last game and didn’t score. They love a 0-0 at home. West Ham aren’t exactly full of goals either, so under 2.5 looks very likely.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under
  • Olly – “Southampton attempted 29 shots in their opening Premier League match of 2017-18 versus Swansea City, but only 2 of these were on target (7%). West Ham looked poor up top against United. Think this will be low scoring.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under
  • Will – “Saints have failed to score in their last six home Premier League games St. Mary’s has also seen more goalless draws (5) than any other ground since the start of last season.” – Correct score – Draw 0 – 0

Stoke v Arsenal

  • Tom – “Keeping this one simple. Arsenal very rarely win at the Britannia, but we normally score. Stoke need to not start like last year (when they won their first game at the 9th attempt) so I think they’ll find the back of the net.” – Both Teams to Score – Yes
  • Olly – “Stoke have lost just 1 in their last 7 home games against the Gunners. So they will certainly make it difficult for Arsenal. Think Arsenal may scrape it though. Lacazette on the scoresheet.” – Arsenal To Win And Both Teams To Score
  • Will – “He looked good last week. Arsenal should win this and he should be back on the scoresheet.” – To score at any time – Alexandre Lacazette

Sunday 20th August 2017

Huddersfield v Newcastle

  • Tom – “I really fancy them to make it 2 wins from 2. I really liked the look of Huddersfield last week, I think they’re going to cause teams problems. Newcastle need goals, but I’m not sure where they’ll get them from, we’ll not enough of them consistently.” – Match Outcome – Huddersfield Town
  • Olly – “He looked dangerous against Palace, could have had a hattrick. Think he will notch again in front of the home fans.” – To score at any time – Steve Mounie
  • Will – “First home game in the Premier League for Huddersfield. The atmosphere will be electric. Will be a tight game but it’s one of the best chances Huddersfield will have to get another win under their belt” – Huddersfield Town To Win And Both Teams To Score

Spurs v Chelsea

  • Tom – “Kane has never scored a Premier league goal in August, I am backing him to break that duck this weekend, at Wembley. I reckon this game could be a draw, Chelsea aren’t as bad as people keep making out, decisions just went against them against Burnley, they’ll be sharp.” – To score at any time – Harry Kane
  • Olly – “Harry Kane has scored 18 goals in 21 Premier League London derbies since his brace versus Chelsea on New Year’s Day in 2015. This will also be his 100th in all competitions for the club. It’s written.” – To score at any time – Harry Kane
  • Will – “Tottenham didn’t lose a home game all season last year. Won their last 14 at home. Chelsea are missing Cahill and fabregas Harry Kane’s next goal for Tottenham will be his 100th in all competitions for the club Scored 18 goals in his last 21 Premier League London derbies” – To score at any time – Harry Kane

Monday 21st August 2017

Man City v Everton

  • Tom – “I’m going bold on this. City look mustard going forward, but I still think there are question marks at the back. I think they’ll win, maybe 3-1. Jesus and Aguero to bag.” – Manchester City To Win And Both Teams To Score
  • Olly – “Cant see City losing this at home, however looked shakey at the back at times last week vs Brighton. Think they will concede, but edge the win! (3-1 City)” – Manchester City To Win And Both Teams To Score
  • Will – “Aguero needs one more goal to become the all-time highest ever non-European goalscorer in Premier League history – he’s currently level with Dwight Yorke on 123 goals.” – To score at any time – Sergio Aguero

  • Tom – “This is a rock solid 5 fold. Southampton can’t score at home, Stoke always give always a game at the Britannia, Kane loves London derbys, Bournemouth v Watford will be open, so expect goals, and Burnley v WBA will be last on MOTD.” – 5 Fold Accumulator – £10 would return £186.39
  • Olly – “Went for a bit of rogue acca last week, this one is much safer and really think it could be a winner.” – 6 Fold Accumulator – £10 would return £433.53
  • Will – “ALL THE CHAPS. Lukaku looked like a beast. Firmino is lethal. Kane loves scoring in a derby & his next goal will be his 100th for Spurs. Aguero needs one more goal to become the all-time highest ever non-European goalscorer in Premier League history. Vardy scored 2 last week & looks like he’s on it” – 5 Fold Accumulator – £10 would return £263.46
