WMB TV – Premier League 17/18 – Week 8 Tips

Saturday 14th October 2017

Liverpool v Manchester United

  • Tom – “I think this will be cagey. Jurgen Klopp has lost just one of his seven competitive meetings with Jose Mourinho as a manager (W3 D3 L1). Since November 2014 Jose Mourinho has failed to win any of his four games against Liverpool (D3 L1). I’d say 1-1 if I had to give a score.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under
  • Olly – “Liverpool vs United is always a tight tight game. Regardless of form, I think it will be equally tight. 0-0 or 1-0 either way.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under
  • Will – “Liverpool are leaky at the best of times and without Mane they tend to concede more / score less. They are also still looking for that commanding defensive presence which would have been much needed to stop Lukaku.” – To score at any time – Romelu Lukaku

Burnley v West Ham

  • Tom – “There have only been 2 goals scored at Turf Moor this season. (Burnley 0 – 1 West Brom, and Burnley 1 – 0 Palace). Burnley won 1-0 at Turf Moor 4 times last season. West Ham have only picked up 1 point in 4 games away from home, that was in the 0-0 draw at West Brom. Could be last on MoTD.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under
  • Olly – “Burnley are unbeaten in their last 5 Premier League matches and West Ham have lost 4 of their opening 7 Premier League matches. Think the hammers will struggle. Either half Burnley is a good shout. Probably Wood on the scoresheet.” – To Win Either half – Burnley
  • Will – “Burnley are enjoying their longest ever unbeaten run in the Premier League including draws vs Liverpool and Tottenham and wins at Chelsea and Everton. West Ham haven’t won an away game yet this season.” – Match Outcome – Burnley

Crystal Palace v Chelsea

  • Tom – “Surely this is a banker?! Crystal Palace have played 7, lost 7, scored 0. No Benteke, no Connor Wickham, no hope. Chelsea have played 3 won 3 away from home.” – To keep a clean sheet – Chelsea
  • Olly – “No Morata so Hazard will be playing higher up. He scored in the internationals and looks good. He is also on Pens. Palace are in a terrible place and are likely to concede a fair few. Odds for an anytime Hazard goal are very good! Get it in your acca.” – To score at any time – Eden Hazard
  • Will – “Surely.” – To keep a clean sheet – Chelsea

Man City v Stoke City

  • Tom – “Man City have kept a shutout in 8 of their 9 Premier League home matches against Stoke (W7 D1 L1). They are currently unbeaten in their last 19 home games in all competitions (W13 D6 L0), their longest run without defeat since January 2012 (30 games). Stoke City have only picked 1 point on the road.” – To keep a clean sheet – Manchester City
  • Olly – “Sterling has scored 5 goals from just 7 shots on target over his last 5 games.” – £10 would return £22.50
  • Will – “Stoke City have either kept a clean sheet (3) or conceded exactly four goals (3) in their last 6 meetings. City are scoring for fun at the moment.” – Correct score – Manchester City 4 – 0

Swansea v Huddersfield

  • Tom – “Swansea have played 3, lost 3 at home so far this season. They have only scored 1 goal in that time. They have fired in just 11 shots on target so far this season. Apart from the opening game of the season 0-3 against Crystal Palace, Huddersfield are yet to score away from home. Last on MotD.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under
  • Olly – “Swansea have attempted the fewest shots in the Premier League this season (46) and only 11 of them on target. Huddersfield haven’t won in 5 matches. Bore draw I think.” – Match Outcome – Draw
  • Will – “Swansea have had only 11 shots on target so far this season which is lowest in the league. Huddersfield have kept 4 clean sheets so far.” – To keep a clean sheet – Huddersfield Town

Tottenham v Bournemouth

  • Tom – “Tottenham are yet to lose to Bournemouth in league competition, winning 3 and drawing 1 of their 4 Premier League meetings to date. Bournemouth have played 3, lost 3 away from home. They have only scored 1 goal in that time, and that was against Everton in a 2-1 loss.” – To keep a clean sheet – Tottenham Hotspur
  • Olly – “Spurs haven’t won at Wembley yet this season, yet smashing it away from home. Think it will be a slow start from them against Bournemouth but will comfortably win in the end.” – Half-time/Full-time – Draw/Tottenham Hotspur
  • Will – “Has to be done.” – To score at any time – Harry Kane

Arsenal - win

Watford v Arsenal

    • Tom – “Alexis Sanchez has scored 3 and assisted 3 in his 4 previous Premier League games against Watford. He’s due a goal as he’s on a bit of a drought, also scored on International duty for Chile.” – To score at any time – Alexis Sanchez
    • Olly – “Watford are flying at the moment, Arsenal haven’t even scored away from home this season. Think Watford will cause them trouble. Either half is a good shout.” – To Win Either half – Watford
    • Will – “Arsenal have not scored in 3 away games. Lost to Stoke and Liverpool, drew to Chelsea. But they’ve kept 4 clean sheets in a row.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under

    Sunday 15th October 2017

    Brighton v Everton

    • Tom – “If Brighton are going to stay up, they’re going to need to win their home games, and I fancy them to win this. Only Man City have left the Amex Stadium with any points, they won 2-0. Everton have only picked up 1 point on the road, that was a 1-1 draw with City at the Etihad.” – Match Outcome – Brighton and Hove Albion
    • Olly – “Everton have failed to win in their last 11 away games in the prem and are in very poor form. Brighton have won their last 3 homes games and despite recently losing to Arsenal, are looking good. Either half win is a good shout.” – To Win Either half – Brighton and Hove Albion
    • Will – “Everton have failed to score in 7 of their last 12. Been under 2.5 goals in most games for both these teams this season.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under

    Southampton v Newcastle

    • Tom – “Southampton have only scored 3 goals in 4 home games this season, all of those came against West Ham in a 3-2 win. Newcastle have conceded just 10 goals in their last 13 Premier League games and never more than twice in a match.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under
    • Olly – “Both are struggling. Saints have failed to score in 8 of their last 9 home Premier League matches and Newcastle have won 1 of their last 14 away matches. Low scoring draw” – Match Outcome – Draw
    • Will – “Saints have failed to score in eight of their last nine at home Newcastle have won just five points from their last 42 available away.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under

    Monday 16th October 2017

    Leicester v West Brom

    • Tom – “I have a feeling that Leicester’s luck is going to change, and they’re going to start winning a few games after a really tough start. West Brom have won only one of their last 12 away Premier League games, and conceded at least 2 goals in 6 of their last 7 away matches.” – Match Outcome – Leicester City
    • Olly – “Scored 5 so far this season, can see him ‘bagging’ (pun) again against West Brom.” – To score at any time – Jamie Vardy
    • Will – “Leicester have had a shite start and West Brom are hard to beat.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under
