WMB TV – Premier League 17/18 – Week 9 Tips

Andy Carroll

West Ham v Brighton

  • Tom – “Keeping this 1 simple. West Ham have won 2 of their 3 home games this season, their only defeat was 2-3 against Spurs who have been unstoppable away from home. Brighton have only picked up 1 point on the road, and scored just one goal. That was a 0-0 draw at Watford, when they were down to 10 men.” – Match Outcome – West Ham United ❌
  • Olly – “West Ham have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 7 league outings at the London Stadium and Brighton haven’t won away from home this season so far. Should be a West Ham win here.” – Match Outcome – West Ham United ❌
  • Will – “The Hammers have kept a clean sheet in five of their last seven Premier League games at the London Stadium Brighton have picked up just one point (W0 D1 L3) and scored just one goal in their four Premier League away games so far this season.” – To keep a clean sheet – West Ham United ❌

Diego Costa

Chelsea v Watford

  • Tom – “I fancy this. Chelsea have only won 1 of their 4 home matches this season. 2-0 against Everton. Watford have won 10 points from a possible 12 away from home in the Premier League this season.” – Both Teams to Score – Yes  ✅
  • Olly – “UNREAL ODDS. Watford did it against Arsenal, they proved they have a bit of grit about them and can fight to the end. Don’t put this in an acca, but as a single, it is certainly worth a few bob.” – Half-time/Full-time – Chelsea/Watford ❌
  • Will – “Marco Silva has won 10 points from a possible 12 away from home this season Chelsea are coming off the back of a 2-1 loss to Palace.” – Both Teams to Score – Yes  ✅

Man Utd

Huddersfield v Manchester United

  • Tom – “Huddersfield have failed to score in four consecutive games in all competitions. Since losing 4-0 to Chelsea on MD9 last season, Manchester United have conceded fewer goals (19) and kept more clean sheets (21) in the Premier League than any one else.” – To keep a clean sheet – Manchester United ❌
  • Olly – “Man Utd have kept 7 clean sheets in their first 8 Premier League games this season. Huddersfield have failed to score in 4 consecutive games in all competitions. Should be a clean sheet here.” – To keep a clean sheet – Manchester United ❌
  • Will – “The Red Devils have kept seven clean sheets in their first eight Premier League games this season Huddersfield have failed to score in four consecutive games in all competitions” – To keep a clean sheet – Manchester United ❌

Manchester City v Burnley

  • Tom – “Pep seems to start him in the league games at home. Sane has scored 4 goals in the last 3 home games. 2 v Liverpool, 1 v Palace, 1 v Stoke, and has played 90 minutes in each of these games.” – To score at any time – Leroy Sane  ✅
  • Olly – “Sterling is smashing it (6 in 6), reckon City will batter Burnley and Sterling will be on the scoresheet.” – To score at any time – Raheem Sterling ❌
  • Will – “Manchester City have won their last three home league games all by a five-goal margin Gabriel Jesus has scored 13 goals in his 15 starts” – To score at any time – Gabriel Jesus ❌

Newcastle v Crystal Palace

  • Tom – “I have a funny feeling that Palace are going to go on a little run of results. With Zaha and Sahko back in the team they’re a different kettle of fish. Since the start of last season, no Palace player has been directly involved in more goals in the Prem than Wilfried Zaha (8 goals, 9 assists).” – Match Outcome – Crystal Palace ❌
  • Olly – “He looked very good vs Chelsea. Danger man! Think he will notch against Newcastle.” – To score at any time – Wilfried Zaha ❌
  • Will – “Palace beat Chelsea last week 2-1. New confidence Zaha is back. Newcastle have drawn last two (Liverpool and Southampton)” – Match Outcome – Draw ❌

Stoke v Bournemouth

  • Tom – “Stoke have only lost 1 game at home. That was the 4-0 defeat against Chelsea when they had defensive problems. Shawcross is still out, but Zouma, Martins Indi, and Wimmer should all be fit. Bournemouth have played 4 lost 4 away from home so far, I am worried about them this year.” – Match Outcome – Stoke City ❌
  • Olly – “Both teams have been very poor in front of goal this season. Can’t see many goals in this game.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under ❌
  • Will – “Bournemouth have lost four consecutive away games Stoke have taken a few battering recently – Chelsea 4-0, City 7-2. But they beat Arsenal and drew to United.” – Match Outcome – Stoke City ❌

Swansea v Leicester

  • Tom – “Swansea won 2-0 at home against Huddersfield last time out. Their frist home win of the season. Prior to that game, Swansea had played 3 lost 3 at home, and only scored 1 goal, which was against Watford 1-2. Leicester have drawn their last 2 away matches, 1-1 Huddersfield, 0-0 Bournemouth.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under ❌
  • Olly – “He scored a brace last weekend. Will be full of confidence reckon he will net!” – To score at any time – Tammy Abraham ❌
  • Will – “Swansea City have allowed their opponents 75 more shots in total than they have attempted themselves.” – To score at any time – Jamie Vardy ❌

Southampton v West Brom

  • Tom – “Southampton have scored just 5 goals in 5 home matches this season, and have drawn a blank in 9 Premier League home games so far in 2017. 3 out of 4 of West Brom’s away games have seen under 2.5 goals. The only 1 that didn’t was the 3-1 defeat at Brighton.” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under  ✅
  • Olly – “This has dud written all over it! Possibly 1-1” – Match Outcome – Draw ❌
  • Will – “Of all teams to have met in at least seven different Premier League campaigns, Southampton vs West Bromwich Albion has the lowest goals-per-game ratio in the competition” – Total goals – over/under 2.5 – Under  ✅

Sunday 22nd October 2017

Everton v Arsenal

  • Tom – “The stats may not back this up. but I fancy this. Arsenal tend to concede away from home, so I think Everton will score. Could easily finish 1-1.” – Both Teams to Score – Yes  ✅
  • Olly – “Both teams not playing well at the moment. Reckon Arsenal might edge it. Under 2.5 goals too.” – Tip ❌
  • Will – “There has been a red card in 3 of the last 4 meetings. Since the start of last season, Arsenal have conceded 11 goals from the penalty spot, (more than any other current Premier League side). They’ve also conceded more away goals in 2017 than any team except Palace. Fancy a Rooney penalty.” – To score at any time – Wayne Rooney ❌

Tottenham v Liverpool

  • Tom – “Spurs have only failed to score at home against Swansea this season. BTTS has come in 3 out of 4 times in the Liverpool away games this season.” – Both Teams to Score – Yes  ✅
  • Olly – “Liverpool coming in to this after winning against Maribor 7-0. Spurs still not looking convincing at Wembley. Liverpool either half is decent odds.” – To Win Either half – Liverpool ❌
  • Will – “There have been 140 goals scored in Premier League matches between Tottenham and Liverpool, two goals shy of the current record” – Both Teams to Score – Yes  ✅
